Entropy

Entropy is the first computer I ever owned, kinda. It was a gift from my parents for high school graduation in 1998. The machine has kept the same functionality and name, but the hardware has changed significantly since then. The last remaining original component (a 3.5" floppy drive) was removed in 2012.

Because of its history, entropy is the only of my computers that is not named for a character from The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Namesake: Entropy was long my only machine running Windows. In the days of Windows 98, performance and stability would occasionally degrade to the point of requiring reinstallation.
