Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock was released yesterday... which was Sunday. How unconventional.

It's another guitar hero game, so there aren't many surprises, but here's a quick list of things that I've noticed.

1. Every time the game is started, it goes to the customary loading screen and then plays four animated clips (one for each step of the corporate chain from development through production and publication) before the customary game introduction video.
2. The graphics are quite a bit more detailed, even in the PS2 version.
3. Lars Umlaut has an awesome viking costume.
4. The Gibson SG controllers from the first two games are available for purchase in the in-game store.
5. Battle mode brings competition right down to a Mario Kart level, with cheap shots galore.
6. The game is more forgiving of sloppy play than its predecessors, so it's much easier.
