Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End was about what I expected. I complained last year that the second installment was worthless on its own, and that hurts this year's effort. While I appreciate the effort to set up a long (over five hours) and complex plot arc across the two movies, the year that passed in between their releases gave me more than enough time to forget who all the wig-wearing soldiers were and who had double-crossed whom and how. The two might work well as a back-to-back DVD rental, but the one-year intermission makes them unfit for the theatre.
