I took the afternoon off of work to see 300. It's visually stunning, as expected, and the acting is a bit more over-the-top than I'd like (also expected). It's definitely a movie to catch in its theatrical run instead of waiting for a rental; I can't imagine it would play nearly as well on the small screen.
As would be expected, it felt like the style was ripped straight from a graphic novel and it worked really well. The blood and the backgrounds were obviously fake, but they didn't detract from the scene as I would expect them to.
