Optimal (0 comments)

FedEx ground beat their delivery estimate and dropped off eddie's replacement disks this afternoon. I drove home after lunch, picked them up, and replaced the failed disk. It was harrowing*, but I managed to get it done, and now we've gone from "degraded" to "optimal:"

root@eddie:/proc/megaraid/hba0 # cat raiddrives-0-9
Logical drive: 0:, state: optimal
Span depth: 2, RAID level: 1, Stripe size: 64, Row size: 2
Read Policy: Adaptive, Write Policy: Write back, Cache Policy: Cached IO

root@eddie:/proc/megaraid/hba0 #

* Actually, because of my choice to go with larger-than-necessary CPU heatsinks and the failed drive's placement in the top disk bay, I had to pull the fan off of the secondary processor's heatsink before I could pull out the failed disk. Now that's intense!
