I, As Well, Love Katamari (0 comments)

I think I'm about done with We Love Katamari. I've rolled up all my cousins, unlocked all the shooting stars, and saved the Earth from giant meteors. Note that I'm done, not finished. As of now, I'm 7,000 roses into the final stage (roll up 1,000,000 roses). I don't expect to finish that one, just like I don't plan on going through the struggle to get the cowbear. I spent thirteen straight hours getting the holy cow in the first Katamari game, so I'm happy to be done with that type of level.

We Love Jatamari is a great expansion pack. At least, that's how I see it. It's the same game in some new settings with a few small tweaks. It's beautiful because so little changed, and the added features don't get in the way of the raw fun of rolling things up in a ball that can't be explained by mere blogging. When I rolled up The King, he was ecstatic. The next time through, I rolled up The King and The Queen together and they were even happier. It's very cutely rewarding.

There's an off chance that I might rig my controller to gather 993,000 more roses without requiring my presence, but it would still take a few weeks to do, and I'll need to be playing Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves, which will require all of the Playstation 2's optical drive capacity (among other things).

Speaking of, halfway through my first successful King-of-All-Cosmos-roll-up mission, we lost power. I turned off ford, and the new UPS was able to power the Playstation 2 for a full half hour until power was restored (and I could use the TV to save my game). Harrowing.

Departing from video games, Matt has a link to MP3s of Van Morrison's Contractual Obligation Record, featuring 31 songs covering topics ranging from hating a guy named George to waiting for a royalty check to wanting a danish to informing the listener that they have ringworm.
