Fogo (1 comment)
We're back in Chicago for another wedding. Last night, we dined with Sam and Gracie at Fogo de Chão.
Holy crap.
Fogo is an all-you-can-eat Brazilian steakhouse buffet, but the buffet comes to you. The servers wander around the restaurant with beautiful cuts of meat on skewers. When you flip your token from "no thanks" to "bring it on," the servers will stop by on their rounds and offer you whatever they're carrying. What they're carrying ranges from chicken legs to rack of lamb to all sorts of beef, my favorite being filet mignon medallions wrapped in bacon. All the while, another set of servers makes sure that the middle of your table always has an adequate supply of fried bananas, fried polenta, and garlic mashed potatoes.
Food bliss.
With dessert, it ended up being $78/person, and I'm surprised to hear myself say that it was well worth it.
