DC Cab (0 comments)

I've now seen DC Cab. As far as I can ascertain, it's the only movie to feature both Mr. T and Gary Busey (though the protagonist role is played by Adam Baldwin, more recently appearing as Jayne in Firefly). Having seen the film, I get the impression that Gary Busey ad-libbed most of his lines with a little help from his chemical friends. A few examples:

  • "Why are women are so uptight? They've got half the money and all the pussy."
  • "Bruce Lee ain't dead you know. They got him frozen in carbonite down under Chatsworth. They're gonna melt him down as soon as the economy gets better."
  • "If I wanted responsibility I would have been a damn sex surrogate."

Now go back and re-read those quotes in your best crazy Busey voice, knowing that their context in the movie doesn't help them make any more sense.

Mr. T is sterotypical. His role is best summed up by the screen capture I took of him saluting the Lincoln Memorial immediately after delivering a moving monologue to call his cabbie breathren to do the right thing:

Mr. T saluting Abraham Lincoln

The movie was very funny for various reasons, and well worth the $9.99 I gave amazon for the DVD.
