Star Wars Saturation (3 comments)

We've finished with the Clone Wars microseries, bringing our preparatory marathon to an end. While nothing I was tracking happened in Episode 1, I can say it was a lot more enjoyable in its phantomly edited form. Jar-Jar and the trade federalists' scrambling and re-subtitling makes an amazing difference.

I've decided that I dislike Episode 2 even more than I thought, now that it's contrasted with the fan-improved version of Episode 1. Surprisingly (to me), my main complaint is now that Padmé screws up everything. I think I might be able to make a strong case that it's entirely her fault that Anakin succumbs to the dark side. Snoop had it right, Anakin: "bitches ain't shit but ho's 'n' tricks."

Woo, tangent.

The important part is that two right hands were cut off with lightsabers in Episode 2:

  1. Obi-Wan cuts off the changeling assassin's right hand on Corscant.
  2. Dooku cuts off Anakin's right hand immediately before Yoda gets all out of character.

Honorable mentions go to Jango Fett for looking like he'd lost his hand to Mace Windu in his final moments and Anakin for losing his robotic right hand to an explosion (not a lightsaber) in the Clone Wars microseries.
