Video Game Saturation (2 comments)

I like being home.

One of the tasks that awaited my return home was the opening and testing of the current batch of cheap video games I bought on eBay. The best of this lot is Pikmin, which I played most of the way through when I was living with Pat in the Summer of 2002. The good news is that Pikmin is even better than I remember. The bad news is that with Pikmin and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas occupying me now and Gran Turismo 4 slated for release next month, I'm running out of time to play all my video games. I'm identifying with a web comic.

I'm still standing by my decision to not purchase Half-Life 2 due to its intrusive anti-piracy schemes. I want a game that I can play without having to ask the maker's permission every time I launch it. Even if it's as good as everyone says it is (and I don't disbelieve them), I'm not going to pay for a product that doesn't allow fair use -- it's the same reason I don't own an X-Box. Fortunately, the rest of my collection is making it easy to forget Half-Life 2.
