When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume, among the Powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

That's from The Declaration of Independence (and I really hope everyone recognized it as such). It seems like far too many people have forgotten why it was written and what it says.
Along the same lines, I like sorryeverybody.com. It's a collection of photos of people apologizing to the rest of the world that their contribution wasn't enough on Tuesday. Unfortunately, I'm not the only one liking it, and its webhosting doesn't seem to be faring well under the load. Good luck.
