Mel and I got to game night late last night and were told that our land line was busy when an attempt was made to call us. We don't often use the land line, so I was confused. I called from my cell and it was indeed busy. When we got home a few hours later, we found that the internet was inaccessible and the phones had no dial tone. I think this has something to do with it:
That's half a block from our apartment. Mel called this morning to enquire as to the expected duration of the outage and the front line Ameritech worker tried to sell us long distance. I really hate their front line workers' directions. I don't expect an easy time of it when I need a line to be used for a competitor's DSL service. Anyway, the outage is planned to last through Monday and we've been promised a credit for service not provided. As such, we've been forced to visit Mel's office for email checking and (obviously) blogging.
