Yesterday was Labor Day. Being Labor Day, and being that I'm employed by the University of Illinois, I wasn't allowed to work, lest I insult people who don't like their jobs. As such, Mel and I accompanied my parents and their neighbors on a trip to historic Wrigley Field to see The Cubs host The Cardinals. We got to the ballpark around noon for the 1:20 PM game. It was raining, and the game was postponed a few times. Around 5:15, the rain subsided, and we got to watch a ballgame. I had a great time watching the Cubs and Cards fans taunting each other as though they were somehow responsible for whatever had just happened in the game. But there was a ~5 hour rain delay, and they were selling beer the whole time, so I suppose the behavior isn't too unreasonable.
It was unseasonably cold outside this weekend, and when we were packing for our trip to East Peoria (and thus the game), Mel and I were unable to find the jeans I'd bought last winter. On a whim, I grabbed a pair that I'd worn in high school and found that they once again fit me. I'm pleased.
