Requiem for a Dream (0 comments)

Aaron let me borrow Requiem for a Dream tonight, and I'm ashamed of all of you for not telling me to watch it before today. It's an excellent movie, from the director of Pi, and I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys films along those lines. It's quite weird and graphic, and touches on topics people don't like to discuss, but very well done, and I think by this point in the paragraph it's extraneous to say that I really liked it.

In other news, we started attacking the Taliban yesterday. Remembering desert storm, it occurs to me that I've always been annnoyed with war news coverage on TV. There's really no news to report, which I consider a good thing (security issues and all), but they dedicate hours and hours to reporting on something about which they know very little. The New York terrorist attack, I should mention, falls into a different category, since that's something that, besides being a hugely important single event, was constantly unfolding with new information becoming available all the time.

And in the best news of all, I saw a commercial today advertising a live-action version of The Tick that will immediately follow The Family Guy in Fox's fall lineup.
