Who Needs Sleep? (3 comments)

I do. For some reason, I laid in bed until 6:30 this morning before I fell asleep. If not for the need to work with other people, I might switch over to the 28 hour day, since I'm never tired at bedtime. Oh well, I'll just suck it up and be opressed by the sun.

Mel and I had an interesting conversation this weekend. It seems that neither of us thought much of stereotypes before we came to college, but coming to UIUC showed us that stereotypes are based on reality. Before coming here, I never saw Asians driving nice cars really badly or clusters of black women all yelling at the same time and shaking fingers at each other and calling it a conversation. Similarly, I'd never been exposed to whiny suburbanite girls who got everything they wanted and never had to work. So now I'm torn. I can accept that I'm to some extent racist, but only because it's based on personal experience. but when I see a BMW drive through a red light (past cars that are stopped in the other lane), I still think "that must be an asian girl." And then I tell myself that it's horrible to assume such things. And then I look up and see the driver.

On the lighter side of things, Aaron got a Playstation 2 and Gran Turismo 3 for his anniversary. Sadly, he'll not soon have much time to play, since Sarah's visits always put him behind on classwork.
