ADSL Today (2 comments)
ADSL stands for "asymmetric digital subscriber line." My plain old telephone line should be upgraded to a fancy digital subscriber line sometime today. Or at least I ordered a subscription. I stayed home from work yesterday to wait for the UPS man to bring me a special modulator/demodulator from Texas so my computers can use my subscription. After that's all up and running, I get to reincarnate one of the computers in the back of the closet and let it be our gateway to the information superhighway.
While I was waiting, I got into my game of Gran Turismo 3. I ended up getting enough money to buy a SVT Mustang Cobra and tweak it up to 608 horsepower. It goes fast (211.5 mph after the latest adjustments). Aaron might have to come over and try to earn one of his own tonight.
Speaking of Aaron, he and Sarah are planning to grace us with their presence on Saturday, so we can watch the Illini game and then the Michigan/Notre Dame game. It'll be really nice to see Sarah again, and it'll be nice to just sit around and watch football.
There will also be snacks.
