Ameritech emailed me this week and told me that there will be a working land line in our apartment no later than Monday night. In that email, they also told us what our phone number will probably be. Mel was playing with one of the features I'd not found on our cell phones and quickly discovered that our phone number translates into 1-217-DRUG-GET. I thought that was funny.
When the land line's there, we can run some DSL lovin' over it, and I'll be able to finally get online from home. As it is, I sneak into work at night to get my fix.
In entertainment news, Weezer is releasing a new EP called The Lion and The Witch (insert a joke here about their last two albums being really short). The neat thing about this is that they're trying to avoid the evil Recording Industry Association of America by releasing it exclusively through indie channels. Record Service, conveniently located on Green Street, claims to be the only store in Illinois that will have it. They're currently taking pre-orders for its expected arrival around September 24th. $6.99.
