Lilo is a Bootloader (1 comment)

Mel and Tree and Galen and I made it out to see Lilo & Stitch last night. I was disappointed. Most Disney movies have lots of puns and subtle jokes to keep the adults in the audience awake while their children are entertained. This movie had none of that. It was all kids' jokes, and consequently, I wasn't entertained.

After the movie, completely unrelated to the discussion, I once again tried to figure out what good the greek system brings to campus. I'm looking for insight on this one, so feel free to comment. Specifically, I saw a frat boy smoking a horribly cheap cigar (it actually made me nauseated when I got too strong of a whiff) next to his girlfriend, who on more than one occasion has told him that she really hates him smoking. It seems to me that his only reasoning for smoking something so vile would be to aggravate her, and that seems wrong. Beyond that, most fraternistic activities are by nature needlessly destructive and without reason. Besides offering friendship and support to shallow, stupid people, what does the greek system do for the campus in general?

After that train of thought got started, we left the bar, and I was immediately distracted from my ponderings. I wish I'd had a camera to take a photo of a construction mistake at sixth & green. They're installing backlit street signs to make campustown more accessible, but they messed up and now we have an intersection marked as Green St. and Green St.
