Graduation Party (2 comments)
I came home for my graduation party this weekend. There was food, there were friends, there was talk of They Might Be Giants, and there were guns (see below). Paul and Opie agree that it's the best party they've been to in a long time, primarily due to the firearm factor. After we abused some bowling pins and had dinner, we went over to Landmark for bowling. I'd forgotten that Saturday is their red pin/crazy lighting and music night. Not too many people were there -- at the busiest, there were four lanes going at once, and the guys working the counter got bored. They had a "trivia question" over the loudspeaker asking the derivative of a simple equation. Being engineers, we answered the question and got a free game of bowling. After that, the guy (who was apparently doing his homework) would call our lane regularly with more questions. We ended up leaving with seven free games, a t-shirt, and a hat. It's just too bad that Paul's the only one who lives in the greater Peoria area anymore. He got to take home all the free bowling.
