ck's archive: long day

Yesterday's high winds managed to take out campus power (both feeds) for around seven hours. Now I'm back home, having worked a full day.

I'm really proud of my team. They did excellent work and got all of our systems back online while I was busy passing information around and coordinating with the other groups involved. I'm not always pleased with the way things transpired to make me an unofficial manager, but I have to admit it's rewarding to play a support role that allows such talented people to shine.
